Beschreibung zur Veranstaltung:
Dan Curtin’s impressive discography dates back to 1992, taking his original inspiration from the early eras of techno and electro, Curtin has experimented with a vast number of styles, producing innovative stateside sounds of every variety. His fascination with electronic music was sparked a decade earlier as he discovered the burgeoning hip-hop movement, along with new wave, electro, and other sonic innovations of the 1980s. Further futuristic explorations of house and techno prompted Curtin‘s own studio-based experimentations, which soon became his primary focus. Over 70 singles, 9 albums and 20 years later, Dan Curtin is as innovative and vital as he has ever been, including his recent incarnation as Purveyors of Fine Funk. In his own words: “Purveyors of Fine Funk is my house alter ego, sometimes it’s a collaboration, sometimes not, but it’s always about that funk, house with an edge and intense soul, definitely jacking, sometimes acid and always looking to the future. Now it’s time for Purveyors to finally hit the decks and bring this signature house sound to the club as a DJ set.” Returning HoW artist Arttu Snellman is known simply as Arttu – or sometimes his alias Lump: moving from Finland to New Zealand and finally to Berlin (with a stop in Portugal in there somewhere), making terrific house music since 2011, his special touch of funk and house determination is a fine fit for the Globus Floor. And we welcome back the slick and sophisticated house sounds of Frankfurt’s Robert Drewek, founder of Rawax: providing delicious sets of groovy house with techno impressions, Robert founded his own record distribution DBH Music in 2007 with Alex Bau and Jörg Henze. The tight cooperation between Rawax and House Of Waxx has continued a formidable cooperation with Monday nights in Tresor Club. Today DBH is one of the most important record distributions for electronic music and the home of Drewek’s Rawax which had an amazing impact in the scene from day one.
