Beschreibung zur Veranstaltung:
One of the most highly respected acts in both techno and industrial circles, Rich Oddie and Christina Sealey aka Orphx have been developing their signature fusion of hypnotic rhythms and experimental noise for the past twenty years. Using modular and analog synthesizers, software, location recordings and feedback circuits, Orphx weaves a live act that draws upon the darker, psychedelic fringes of electronic dance music and combine these elements with the experimental aesthetics and themes of early industrial music. Altstadt Echo has accomplished what most up-and-coming artists only talk about: a handful of vinyl releases, multiple festival performances, and the curation of an event series that has become a fixture of local underground culture. Altstadt Echo has been remixed by electronic music leaders across the world and has also established his own Modern Cathedrals label. Having only recently relocated to Berlin, his sound is a melancholic mixture of Detroit’s rough concrete landscape and dark Scandinavian romanticism. With two releases expected on his label and more on Interdimensional Transmissions’ experimental sublabel Eye Teeth, we welcome Alstadt Echo back in our home tonight. Rerturning artist Lucindo has Italo-Brazilian origins and now resides in Germany. He began to produce electronic music with long-time friends Ascion and D. Carbone, with whom he shares the record label 3TH, the platform where his productions are released. Lucindo’s DJ sets are as powerful, mental and acidic as his own productions, characterized by distorted industrial rhythms and acidic patterns, accompanied by noisy, emotional soundscapes. In Globus: Of the original crop of Detroit DJs, Delano Smith is one of the few still dedicated to the craft. Reflecting on house and techno without his influence would reveal a very different musical landscape today. Delano honed his skills under the the guidance of the late, great Ken Collier. With initial sets fusing soul, disco and early electronic sounds, Delano planted seeds in the minds of Detroit’s subsequent generations. Championing permutations of the post-Disco era, Delano started releasing his own music in earnest from 2002 onwards, finding homes on esteemed underground labels and of course on his own Mixmode imprint. In 2009 Delano formed a pivotal relationship with the Berlin based Sushitech Records, following a chance meeting with label head Yossi Amoyal. After a string of successful Sushitech EPs, in 2017 Delano added another Sushitech LP entitled ‘Detroit Lost Tapes’ it offered archived material, dug out and recontextualised with a worldwide tour following in support. Patrice Scott is one of Detroit’s top producers of deep house and techno music and a frequent guest in our home. Substance, quality, and diversity are the driving forces behind this artist who has touched the world by storm in the early stages of his career. Patrice Scott has a fascination and desire to be anything but the norm. Over the years he has focused more and more on his studio production skills and his label Sistrum, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2016. For the last 12 years, Berlin-born Janina developed an impressive sharp ear, technical skills, an asserted signature, despite continuously evolving music tastes. Playing regularly in the best clubs in Berlin and in European capitals, Janina is now playing twice a month as a resident of Monasterio Club in Moscow.
