Yesim aka Y.unan started sharing her favorite tunes with audiences in 2004 at several alternative music venues of her home town Istanbul. In 4-hour long sets of heavily electronic music she was telling stories weaving different genres ranging from hip-hop to dub and house to idm, acid and techno into her own strictly personal sound. In 2007 Y.unan became a resident DJ at Dirty, one of the most popular dance music venues at the time. Also held the same position at Wake Up Call and Suma Beach the last few years. In 2008 she participated in Red Bull Music Academy in Barcelona which was the most amazing musical experience of her life. There Y.unan hosted the drum duo “Mix Hell” in the notorious Sala Razzmatazz. In the following years she performed in several clubs in Berlin and other international venues. Amsterdam-based devotee Van Anh is a DJ pur sang with over a decade of experience to her name, making her the respected artist we get to enjoy today. Her sincere love for digging, selecting and technical mixing oozes through every vessel of her body. Her sound takes on multiple shapes and forms varying from deep ethereal ambient to hard uncompromising techno. Never monolithic, what makes listening to Van Anh so enjoyable is the intricate way of combining all these sounds, bridging music from the past and the present. Whether it’s a warming-up, the peak of the night or a closing set, Van Anh will seamlessly move you on the dance floor. Our excellent techno resident Esther Duijn welcomes and hosts these fierce up-and-coming new faces with a terrific DJ set.
