Beschreibung zur Veranstaltung:
On the Tresor Floor we welcome back Sleeparchive for another intense live set. One of the most innovative artists in modern techno, Sleeparchive is a sort of post-90s electronic deity with a penchant for the future. Joining the Tresor label in 2011 with “Ronan Point” (Tresor.243) and on to “A Man Dies On The Street” Pts. 1 & 2 (Tresor.260/264), Sleeparchive’s music is just as hazy, deep and full of shady nuances that, like treasure, only appear if you’re willing to keep probing. Tresor Records artist Marcelus is a DJ and producer from Paris, owner of Singular Records and a mixing master behind the Tresor decks. Marcelus‘ sets are consistently futuristic, arresting and always textural, and he is also releases on DJ Deep’s Deeply Rooted. Italian artist Alessandro Gaja debuted in 2013 on Repitch, and also records on his own Ophism Record label, focused on releasing rusty, live recorded analogue jams of underground acid techno, electro and lo fi synthesizer music. Gaja’s releases on Ophism include “Nanook”, “Money Create Taste” and “Slaves Of The Future”. Tresor resident Mischa is a product of shifting technological landscapes. Nurtured by computerized machine music through radio waves from the hardcore continuum, he has developed a distinctly futurist vision for uncompromising techno music. Born in Berlin, Mischa inevitably found the legendary Hard Wax as a main educator in taste, and has worked there since 2010. On the Globus Floor: Ploy, the pseudonym of South London based artist Sam Smith, emerged onto the scene in 2016 with his debut release, ‘Sala One Five’ on the renowned Hessle Audio label, expertly followed up by a slew of EP’s finding residence on Batu’s Timedance imprint, the faction whom collectively carved out a unique sound in a shockingly short space of time, grounded in UK bassbin principles yet pushing that prism in wild, crooked new ways that have become something of a signature aesthetic… Ploy’s unique sound has a place among modern electronic music’s most innovative, receiving remix treatment from the likes of Beatrice Dillon and Peder Mannerfelt. As well as regularly performing in Europe’s top venues, Ploy has already mixed an Electronic Explorations podcast, held down multiple NTS shows and a week-long residency on Rinse FM, and Fact Mix most recently. UK producers Sween + Dawl deviate from their usual homebase of their own Tone Dropout label to deliver a solid 4 track EP last February on Berlin-based Klasse Wrecks, “Rise of the Humanoids”: classic electro influences mix with breakbeat flavours to produce a fantastic and energetic collection of tracks. Tone Dropout are responsible for some of the most exciting and refreshing records from recent years. Traditionally styled electro merges with breakbeatbass and classic techno to result in many dancefloor hammers – dance to it yourself tonight!! Leibniz’s records for labels like Uncanny Valley’s shtum and Rat Life series or Ortloff from Leipzig, where he used to live before relocating to Berlin, were all a bit rougher, more technoid even, but all very much influenced by what you can read about in that comprehensive history of the hardcore continuum. Leibniz’s »Online« EP, was the first release on hundert, the label he co-founded in 2017 with his partners in crime from DJ bwin and DJ OK. He’s a bit like that kooky guy who sends you links to extensive political commentary, always shortly after six in the morning for some reason. You appreciate that, though, because who else is so consistent like that these days
