Seuil - Musm (Moonhabour 043)

Alexis Benard a.k.a Seuil can't be stopped at the moment, releasing six EPs in the last year alone and amongst them being his stunning debut »Double Room« on Moon Harbour. This time around Seuil dishes up another three top-notch house tracks for us.

It all starts with »Musm«, a driving track with a sharply accented rhythm, underlined by a catchy vocal sample. Around the middle of the track the arising fanfare/trumpet horn shows off Seuil's feel for the dancefloor. When the peak arrives it is a carefully crafted and subtle one, holding the listener till the end.

»Unexpected Night« is a builder, starting relaxed, but during the breakdown a half dissonant, half driving sound emerges giving the track an excellent and unforgettable new dynamic.

»Ohohah« is a touch more experimental. Bourn on an elegant bassline, the style shows a friskier side to Seuil, while still capturing his catchy, deep and funky style.
