Beschreibung zur Veranstaltung:
Abe Duque jokingly describes himself as one of the “few producers still licenced to use the 303”. But with a career that started in the early days of house at New York’s notorious Limelight, Abe Duque has been at the head of the acid-house and underground-techno table since his earliest releases way back in 1993. From muscular and melodic techno to cocktail jazz and ambient interludes, his early tracks on his own labels Tension and Hollis Haus, his releases under pseudonyms like Kirilan, Super Secret Symphony and his releases on others’ labels like Disko B, Rapture!, Morbid, and Tresor captured a particular period of clubbing history. Abe Duque’s vita is long and rich, composing hits, producing/remixing for some of the music industry’s most famous artists, and he has been a welcome guest in Tresor for decades. Suggestion: do not miss him tonight! Julia Govor is a Russian DJ currently based in the USA. After having been a singer in a band and working in the film and TV industry in her home country, she turned her inspiration to turntables and lent her talents to the legendary Moscow underground club Arma17 for several years. During this period Julia could also be found making impactive appearances at Movement in Detroit, Kazantip in Ukraine, WMC in Miami, ADE in Amsterdam and Sonar Off in Barcelona. A relocation to New York has seen Julia perform alongside the likes of Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin and Sven Vath at Output, Verboten, Space, Time Warp, Awakenings and Electric Zoo. Tresor Club resident Handmade‘s DJing is perfectly tuned to the Globus Floor’s wavelength: oscillating between house and techno styles, the dancing crowd in a firm grip, driven to fill the dancefloor. An integral part of the Tresor resident team since 2009, Handmade earned his stripes in the rocky terrain of the Berlin nightlife. Little by little he developed his pumping original mix of superior and timeless dance styles that have particularly influenced his experience. Handmade’s explosive trademark DJ style: deep and dubby-grounded á la Detroit, with the jacking stabs of Chicago influences and occasional deviations into tougher or soulful soundscapes. In Globus: DJ Sotofett is with his wide span collaborations, productions & myriad of aliases the most releasing artist from Norway for more than a decade and a half. With his brother, the Sex Tags Mania (2004) label sees the home of left-of-center approach to traditional club music while the Sex Tags Amfibia (2005) platform outlets typically-alternative projects in the vain of dub/reggae, ambient, experimental, jazz & rock. The less profiled but more active Wania (2010) imprint is home for vinyl releases coming mostly from his own studio, while many DJ Sotofett productions can also be found on Laton, Keys Of Life, Acido Records, Honest Jon’s, Fit Detroit & m.m. befriended labels. As a DJ for nearly two decades, the musical source is rooted in the past five decades of dance & leftfield music. Whether it’s unexpected, unconventional, straight, or unreleased music it’s mostly presented as all-night or very lengthy sets. Andrew James Gustav‘s sets showcase a devotion to the craft of DJing that’s paralleled by few of his contemporaries. Initially under the spell of US house and German minimal, and always influenced by a long-lasting love for UK garage, Andrew’s sound has developed a tougher edge, encompassing vintage tech house, breakbeat, electro and quality techno from all eras and geographies. As well as touring internationally, Andrew is resident DJ at London-based Art of Dark and co-runs its record label offshoot with party founder Colin Chiddle. Berlin DJ Tatjana will also provide a set on the Globus decks tonight.
