Beschreibung zur Veranstaltung:
Exactly one year since their last appearance: one of the most highly respected acts in both techno and industrial circles, Rich Oddie and Christina Sealey aka Orphx have been developing their signature fusion of hypnotic rhythms and experimental noise for the past twenty years. Using modular and analog synthesizers, software, location recordings and feedback circuits, Orphx draws upon the darker, psychedelic fringes of electronic dance music and combine these elements with the experimental aesthetics and themes of early industrial music. Returning artist Romek Boyer aka Rommek is a London-based Techno producer & DJ. Vinyl releases on Weekend Circuit & No logo, plus digital releases on Labrynth & Sonntag Morgen, as well as having plenty more EPs lined up, proves he is a growing figure in the scene. Gaining support and playtime from DJ Deep, Francois X, Cassegrain and Arnaud le Texier, just to name a few, Rommek’s work is showing its potential, and making its imprint. Returning artist Anthony Arcana is Ayarcana from Italy, producing some very powerful techno on the Vae Victis Records, S.L.A.M. and Parachute Records labels, among others. Founder of London-based imprint Weekend Circuit, Berlin-based Michael Wells has gathered works on his label from quality artists such as Jonas Kopp, Reeko, Developer, Pär Grindvik, Francois X, Stanislav Tolkachev, Dax J, Yan Cook, Sleeparchive, Antonio De Angelis, P.E.A.R.L., I/Y and many more. Wells’ own debut EP on his label “Three Marks Of Existence” was an ear-opening signifier of his future direction as a producer – meditative, tense, unfolding electronics and monochrome ambient environments. In Globus: starting in 1997, James “darkfarmer” Taylor and David “brun” Brown presented their trade as the influential underground electronic act Swayzak. After releasing 5 studio albums and 2 DJ compilations James left and David continued as s_w_z_k. James returned and Swayzak continued to release numerous excellent experimental works, including our own label (Tresor.253), carrying their sound further in its dark, twisted and unmistakable voyage. Minimal Violence is a collaboration between Vancouver artists A. Luk and Lida P. Releasing an album “Heavy Slave” in 2015, the pair cited influence from both minimal synth and Chicago house for their 2017 “Night Gym” EP which arrived hot off the heels of the duo’s self titled EP on Dublin-based First Second Label, which closely examined the intersections that lay between punk and techno. Sven von Thülen also returns to Tresor, DJ and co-author with Felix Denk of “Klang der Familie”, the definitive oral history of the German capital’s techno culture – his turntable talent is ever so evident, as he has shown in former sets in our home. We also welcome back frequent guest DJ Sarah Miles, co-founder & chief, DJ & live host at Berlin Community Radio, who plays in numerous Berlin underground locations and whose sets surprise and delight with their spectrum of sophistication in dance club mixing.
